Hello all. I have been trying to loose weight for a very long time. Food seems to be in control. Ive have tried everything. I start off good but always end up failing. Hoping this group can give me some motivation to finally loose this weight. I am 210 trying to get to 175. What are some things that you do to keep mind off of food?

I'll post what I told two other people:
"The best advice I can give you is to stay away from the scale and because that's not what really matters, just go for what feels good in your own body. I weigh 55kg but for some reason wanted to weigh 53kg and started starving myself to reach that goal, until I realized it was just dumb of me because I already felt good so I was hurting myself and even gaining weight due to constantly thinking about food. You gotta go with what feels good for you.

For instance, when you eat a hot dog, the taste feels great right? Butg how does your body feel afterwards? Personally I felt "greasy" and bloated. The taste went on for seconds, but they way I felt in my body lasted an hour or more, and the guilt also hurt me. You need to do it not to lose weight but for yourself to feel healthy. You mustn't think yummy food is gone forever, it'll always be there and you can eat it if you want, just make it an exception with no pressure whatsoever :) you should also try to find healthy snacks that are really good, look up for some vegan recepies for example. Take your time, and do it because it feels right, you just have to relax. The more you stress yourself about not being able to eat the more your body will enter survival mode and think you want to starve it, you can NOT go against your body, you have to be allies. If the diet isn't working, tell a professional you want to change something, go research and give him sugestions, make your health a hobbie/lifestyle instead of an obligation, it's for you so be your own friend" :) I believe it's all about education in the end and loving yourself
