Hi, I have a shopping addiction. It feels so selfish and shameful. I hate it. I want to change. I don't feel like I'm a bad person but it's easy to feel alone in addictions. I feel like everyone around me that doesn't have an issue is so perfect and I'm such an irresponsible person. I want to do better and I hate being tempted. I want to be able to be a great wife in the area of finances and teach my children diligence and being good stewards. Please help.

The first step to recovery is to admit your problem and ask for help. I am very proud of you for doing that most people do not. What kind of help are you asking for?

@lifeishardbutiamforcedtosmile Hi, Thanks for responding! I think for me to know that I'm not alone is good for me. Not feeling like I'm the only one in the whole world who struggles. Also, just some tips, how do I not just not spend extra money but how do I fill the hole? I am a Christian (not a mean or judgmental one), so I know/belive that these things that I accumulate are not lasting, but how do I balance myself? I want to be a good steward, how do I over come the temptation? Its hard to just "stop" I have struggled with anxiety and depression and finally went on medication because I couldst just stop being worried or anxious. What are some practical things that others do?
Thanks again.
