@Faithx7 I love the Impressionists; my favorite happens to be Monet, but I like all of their works. If I’m feeling anxious, gazing at one of the Impressionist paintings gives me a serene feeling, and a sense of calm. I like your analogy to life, in that everything has a purpose. We need to respect beauty and not abuse it, or we’ll feel the thorns.......

@pickone Hi....thank you for your reply. You didn't quite interpret my analogy the way I meant it, but that doesn't matter, because your message is both true and sober. I love most genres, but of the impressionist/post impressionist, Van Gogh is by far my favorite....and one of my favorite artists, in general; and I too derive comfort from a variety of works.....,Turner, for example. :)

@Faithx7 You’re welcome, and I’m sorry if I didn’t interpret your analogy quite the way you meant it. I agree that they’re all great masters, and their legacy is a gift to the world. I know Van Gogh’s background, and even though his works are exquisite, they don’t give me the same sense of serenity and calm that a Monet, Renoir, Matisse, etc., does. To me, Van Gogh’s works seem a bit dark and turbulent; but I do admire them. I think that’s what so great about art; it’s open to individual interpretation.......
