Two of my closest friends recently started dating people and have stopped spending very much time with me. I know that that is just what happens in life but even though I know this, I am angry and sad. I act angry towards them and then they don’t want to spend any time with me at all. My therapist advised that I should start trying to act normal around them again because I miss them. I have been trying but its not the same when I spend time with them now. It used to be natural and now it feels like I have to put in so much effort. I am finding myself wondering if I even want to be friends with them anymore when the type of relationship we have is not what it used to be and not what I want. I want to bring it up to my therapist again but when I mentioned how I was acting towards them she told me to stop being stubborn which hurt my feelings because I am not TRYING to be difficult in the first place.

@JellyfishLane sometimes new relationships are more insular but hopefully that will change once the honeymoon phase passes. ;)

I was thinking if you planned something like a mani/pedi day, or a rom com watch party, maybe they would be interested in hanging out, on the other hand, it shouldn't be this hard to find ways to find ways to hangout.

Thanks! That's a good idea. I was thinking that I will have to plan things more.
