I'm not sure which group to post this in but I have a dog with separation anxiety he has had it since he was a puppy and he is now 2 years old it is difficult to leave the house to do anything. I have to make plans and usually get a dog sitter then at least I don't have to worry about him being at home freaking out. Because if I don't get a sitter I find that my anxiety is up watching him on video screaming and crying.
My husband is super frustrated because I am now limited to doing anything. I am working on triggers with my dog but it is not an easy task. people aren't familiar with separation anxiety with dogs. But it exists and it is stressful and time consuming I'm just looking for any advice And maybe some support right now.

Some vets prescribe medication. Maybe try looking for a dog 'whisperer' type person to hire.

We tried medication I didn't like the side effects. We are continuing training.
