Hello, I need help! I’m at a point in my life where I’ve raised my kids and finally only have myself to clean up after, except I have been living with my fiancé now for a year and it’s like having a kid in the house again. He lived with his mom for over 10 years before moving in with me and she did his laundry, cooked his meals and cleaned his bathroom and made his bed. For awhile I was happy to take care of him until I realized he expected it since that is what he was used to from his mom, oh and he is 53. I get so frustrated that he doesn’t clean or cook except canned food, he says he can cook but is too lazy too. One day I decided I wasn’t going to do any of his laundry anymore and that’s is because he mad3 a comment about not having clean shorts. I’m fed up with his laziness and his mom was his biggest enabler! Anybody have any advise on what I should do or if I’m being selfish and over-reacting? I want to be equals and don’t feel like we are, he has never once in the year we’ve lived together cooked or cleaned. If he’s not at work he just plays video games all day unless I have a honey do for him and that’s a lot to ask of him too sometimes. We also don’t haven’t had sex in months because he has ED and he has type 2 diabetes, he shows no interest in getting healthy or be intimate. Please help! I love him but 8 feel I’m not in love with him anymore. On the positive I do know that he does love me and he’s a great step-grandpa.

But do you love him? Or are you just mothering him?

Yes, I love him! But, the romantic love is absent. I haven’t been mothering him for months now although he would like me to, I stopped doing certain things for him when I realized that it’s what a mother does. I want an equal, a partner who wants to work together on everything.
