Hello everyone. I have a dilemma. I had friend with benefits

Hello everyone. I have a dilemma. I had friend with benefits relationship with no strings attached with this person. However we've been seeing each other through out the years since 2011. I recently stop talking to him for a specific reason. First, we mutually agreed not to get attached but I know I formed feelings through the years. Once upon a time, he told me he has love for me. He recently reached out to me..I know he just want sex. But I can't have sex with him. My question is should I even talk to him about my true feelings to heal or should I just heal on my own without his closure???
I really don't want to explain to him why we can't have sex anymore. I'm too ashamed of it

@Anonymous1speaking I'm sure most people in your situation would feel the same way. Like I said its personal anyway. I mean we don't go telling anyone if we had a urast infection or any type of infection because it's personal and it does not define you as a person no more than if you had shingles or psoriasis or something. Its your personal business there's all kinds of skin conditions people get under there clothes in areas they absolutely do not tell others about. There was one skin condition someone on here told me about but I can't remember what it was called but she got it down there. Really there is a lot of different skin conditions it's crazy.

I did some research.. I'm just trying to wrap my head around it.
