I really need some advice, I have a hard time communicating my needs with the guy I've been talking to for almost a year ( we're in long distance) he lives in L.A and because of this pandemic we have not been able to see each other. But we're definitely into one another. I guess one of my love languages are gift receiving. Ive sent him a care package for halloween and a gift for Christmas ( he did not gift me anything in return for Christmas which is something i expected I guess..) And the thing is my birthday is coming up and I would like to receive a gift from him atleast some flowers would be nice..but I just don't know how to bring it up and communicate it. I guess I'm kinda scared of the outcome. I just know if I dont say anything about it and I don't get anything it'll be a huge deal breaker for me and it'll crush me. I really need help. Im totally clueless on how to bring it up and what to even say. I hope someone out there can help me ??

I believe 100% in Love Languages. Gary Chapman is a genius in my opinion. I think that if you have a partner who doesn't recognize your love language and doesn't fulfill that need then the relationship has a very low chance of survival. Maybe you should get him a copy of the book and tell him it's very important to you. I would love to find a woman who recognizes how important this aspect of life is. He should be grateful.
