I’m seeking help and I’m actually in therapy specifically for trauma.
I thank you for your message, but I’m not religious and I’m also gay so gods not really an option for me. Thank you anyway though

Thank you for your kind ménage of support. I am in therapy for my past traumas and it is helping, but some days it all feels too hard

I'm glad you're seeking help and therapy. But don't believe the lie that God isn't an option for you. He is an option for everyone. He created you, He adores you, He died for you, He wants a relationship with you. You don't have to "clean up your act" to go to Him; just go to Him in your brokenness and sorrow and life-hardships and let Him begin to heal you one step at a time.

Our current culture may have given you the idea that being gay makes you ineligible to be received by God, but He is the only one who knows you intimately and He will either change you from the inside out or not, depending on what HE knows YOU need. It is not up to any human to decide about your life; let God be the one to care for you and heal your past trauma and do whatever needs to be done to make you whole and full of joy and a peace that simply cannot be described!

Jesus actually spoke against the "religious" leaders of His day, because they just tried to follow a bunch of rules to earn their way to heaven and they looked good on the outside, but in their hearts they were self-righteous, judgmental, and arrogant.

I wouldn't call myself religious, even though I follow Christ. I knew I messed up my life, I knew I needed forgiveness, and I was so relieved once I understood that there wasn't anything I could do to be "good enough" to get to heaven...that Jesus paid the price for all I had done wrong and was simply offering me this free gift of His grace...IF I would surrender to Him. I had already tried so many other ways to ease my pain and find freedom,, but everything just led to more bondage. Jesus finally set me free when I came to Him, desperate for help and hope. He will do that for you, too, if you let Him.

Although my life may look "religious" to others because I love the Lord, the way I live is in response to His love for me...His infinite, unbelievable love. The Bible isn't a bunch of rules to follow so we can earn our way to heaven. The Bible is His words to us--a love letter, if you will-- and a handbook for life. Just take a chance and read the book of Mark in the New Testament and ask God to reveal to you whatever it is He wants you to understand. I promise you, that there's nothing like being loved and accepted by Him! I'm praying for you.

You know the song Amazing Grace? "Amazing grace, how sweet the sound, that saved a wretch like me?" Oh, how those words described me! But now I'm free, under His sweet grace, and I want this for you, too.
