So I have questionn about fear of abandonment. For me I don't experience that yet I have be diagnosed with BPD. For me I expect abandonment for i don't become disappointed. I expect people to leave or to hurt me for me I just say that it is what it is. I just don't really fully understand why its this way instead the other way around??

This does help, Thank you. From your perspective do you think by expecting abandonment is more of a delusional thought about abandonment??

@rjfh2o - Well, I think for those of us with BPD, we have had real or perceived abandonment at a crucial point in our lives and often feel responsible for the abandonment. I don't think it's delusional, but I do think it is our default setting and we feel it when in fact it doesn't exist and it takes therapy to overcome it. I think it can be delusional. It is a cognitive distortion.
