I just want to throw this out there so perhaps we all can laugh about something incredibly silly or...stupid about our narcs. Things that the average normal person would not have an issue with but they did have an issue with.

Here is just one of mine, We had a tropical motif in our master bathroom so naturally as a woman - I wanted to match things. I purchased these large bath towels - they are heavy but wrap around your entire body, I purchased them in light greens and light blues, Nice towels. He always used white towels. And his towels were getting older and starting to fray. Time and again I would try to put out the new towels and time and again - there were the hideous white ones. WTH?

@zee4ward Yhe only way they can stay in a relationship without the other person just flat out leaving them is finding someone that can be tricked into believing the narc is somebody they really are not. Control is the next stage in securing the victim once mask is off. The narc looks at it as a means of survival.

@Michael72 I am truly sorry about your devastating experience in a narcissistic relationship. But your statement, at the end of your above comment, “How do you win (or stay sane) in a situation like this?” Reminded me of an old sitcom back in the 50s and early 60s, called “The Life of Riley,” which I’m sure you’re too young to remember. At the end of each episode, after his wife drove him crazy, he’d look into the camera, soulfully, and say in a tone of utter despair, “IT’S A LOSING FIGHT!” That, I think, sums up a relationship with a narcissist........
