I haven't been on here in awhile. I finally stood up to him

I haven't been on here in awhile. I finally stood up to him last night and told him I would no longer tolerate his rages, cruel comments, and infidelities. His answer was that we could "start over", "forget about all of that" - again. I held firm and said no, this has to be dealt with or we are done. This morning he was acting like nothing had happened, but I again held firm. He took off in his car, turned off his Find Friends locator, and won't answer his phone. I'm panicking, that old familiar feeling. Everything in me wants to chase him and say I'm sorry, but I won't. Please someone tell me everything is going to be ok, and that I'm not making the biggest mistake of my life.

So. The answer for you asking for no more abuse was more abuse. I understand you wanting to go and say you are sorry. I did it too many times.

I don´t know if things will be great, but you will get all his bs out of your life and just that will be better.

He's been gone three nights now. I have panic attacks, sometimes continuously. I had never had a panic attack before meeting him 8 years ago. This is really hard.

You will be fine in time. You are in the beginning stages of narc withdrawal. His reaction is typical narc. His ability to ignore is stronger than your resolve. This is as good as it gets with a narc. If you so not want to be in this same place saying the same things a year from now then please plan an exit strategy. He will not be held accountable and is waiting for you to cave and apologize. It is a game. NO CONTACT!
