I am at the end of my rope with this sleeping issue.i am 52 in peri menopause. Still get my periods each month but they are erratic and some months come more frequently. I can deal with all the other symptoms that I am experiencing including short term memory loss, anxiety, irritability, mid section spread,( ok, not that one!) but when I do t sleep for nights on end or don’t fall into deep sleep as well, I want to lose it! Was taking antidepressant, Remeron years ago for anxiety and sleep issues related to it and it helped me tremendously.i bets in taking it again when the sleep issues be again about 16 months ago and it helped me a lot. One drawback,I gained 7pounds! Just had saliva testing and found out I have low progesterone and low estrogen. Decided to give bioidentical hormones a try but immediately begs in experiencing panic attack’s and anxiety. Stopped hormones and began doing research about these hormones. Found a great book, The Hormone Cure, by Dr Sara Gottfried. Everyone should read this book! Going back to my doctor with the info I have and going to ask him to change my hormone plan. Not sure how he’s going tomreact, but it’s my body and I have every right to decode what I put in it! FYI, tried melatonin and valerian, they don’t help me. I would stay on the remeron but hate the weight gain. Read that some of you are on Lexipro. Does that affect your weight?

Good morning and welcome to the group!
MAGNESIUM OIL! His mineral that most of us are deficient in will all but completely end your insomnia! I have been using it for the past 9or 10 months with excellent results. I fall sleep quickly and sleep the entire night in a nice deep sleep with zero side effects. I buy KAIAME natural brand because it’s pure undiluted oil. The 12oz bottle lasts me nearly 4 months and that’s with hubby using it half the time as well. About $20 for the 12oz bottle and they send you a little travel size bottle as well.
I am using bio identical natural progesterone cream also with awesome results. It took 90 days to get through the craziness before everything evened our for me. I could not use the phytoestrogens cream though. It made things worse. The natural progesterone has regulated my cycle, vanished fibroids in my breast and uterus, brought back my libido, helped with weight gain, irritability, and a multitude of other symptoms. How long were you on the bioidenticals and where did you get them from? I get my natural progesterone from Amazon as well, but again it is very important to tough it out the first 90 days to allow it time to synch your hormones back up.
Thanks Fior the info on the book! I will order it. Have you read “What your Dr may not tell you about menopause “.. this book literally changed everything for me and helped me get back to being me again!
My Dr put me on antidepressants in the beginning of my perimenopause almost 11 years ago. I used lexapro... I had 10 pound weight gain in 3 weeks and immediately started having terrible thoughts of worthlessness, FURIOUS anger and even suicide. Needless to say I took myself off of the antidepressants and have been going all natural ever since. I use 5000iu ofvitamin D everyday as a natural antidepressant. Along with the magnesium oil, and I’m back to pretty much carefree and mostly happy again. I can sure tell if I skip a day!!!
I’m so glad you found our site and hope you stop in often for support! Keep us posted on what you are trying and what is working for you?!

@JanQ yes I only use the cream from day 12 to day 26 of my cycle. It is important to use it correctly for it to be beneficial. 1/4 to 1/2tsp every 12 hours on only those days. Use it only on thin skinned areas like inner wrists and ankles, chest, neck, and face. Alternate the spot u use it on each time so you don't create a build up and it all release at once.
The magnesium oil will feel itchy and tingly if you use it on other areas other than your feet. This is normal, it is your nerve ending responding to the oil and it will go away after about 20 minutes and will stop happening all together once you have used it daily for a couple of weeks. 15 to 20 sprays a day will make you feel sooo my h better! Has brought my anxiety level down to hear nothing! Yay for products that work!
