Hi I'm currently on HRT as my body does not make estrogen, I'm scheduled for a hysterectomy later this year, but I would like to know if anyone has had side effects from HRT and stopped? And what that meant for your health and maybe what your doing now? I'm having some bad reactions and I'm interested to see what other people experience. X

I'm just throwing in my 2cents...What kind of bad reactions? I had to have a hysterectomy at 31 yrs from fibroids and luckily it didn't throw me into early menopause. Fast forward 20yrs and I am now STILL in menopause after 9 grueling yrs. I could not use my Dr's recommending HRT because of fam/cancer issue. I have used a few health store combo supplements -black cohosh for hot flashes. "Source Naturals" makes a Progesterone crm (which I have recently begun) and also an estrogen cream as well on Amazon. I've only done the PROGESTERONE. These replicate your body's natural hormonal should prob have a thyroid test done by your doc or OBGYN to deterimine if there are any other lacking enzymes, etc...Wish I could do a reg patch HRT, women tell me they "almost" feel human again. I don't know what that's like!

@Littlesis7 thankyou for commenting I really find everyone's responses interesting. By bad reactions I mean
- fatigue I'm unable to hold steady work
-weight loss I've lost over 10kg since starting and I've got absolutely no appetite
-severe migraines to the point I'm admitted to hospital
-lumbar punctures from to much ceribial fluid being made.
And that's just the beginning.

That's why I was thinking more of a natural option? My doctor won't take me off it but because I have severe osteo perosis and in her opinion she doesn't want me to stop

@Glassesgirl progesterone is what make up bone mineral density... when our bodies lack progesterone our blood nes become weak. I have an elderly friend who uses the natural progesterone cream and has had a 3% increase of bone mass on her spine since she began using it a year ago. Estrogen exposure s so dangerous for so many of us!! If I were you with your problems and being so young, I would find a naturopath...they are going to safely help you thru your issues!!
