Hi everyone! I am a 47 year old guy that has found it next to impossible to find anyone to be with. The reasons for this are too many to even get into. If I had to narrow it down I would say its mainly been low self-esteem. I have worked on that and my other problems a lot over the years. I am in a better place for sure but I really doubt I will get a whole lot better than I am right now.
I would love to find someone to be with. It would not even have to be a marriage or live together situation, just someone to be with from time to time. Someone to share things with and talk to.
The thing is I have very little faith I will ever find that person. I have lots of good qualities and a good heart but I still feel like most women would not want anything to do with someone like me.
Given that, I would like to know how do you come to terms with being alone for the rest of your life? Is there some way to just get the ideal out of my head altogether? I guess this is kind of dumb question:) but I am asking it none the less. Maybe there is some drug I could take, some kind of hormone blockers or something!
My thoughts about this are doing nothing for me except making my depression worse

Jun 23Thanks, that is good advice. I just dont get out very much and know thats not very helpful. Money is an issue for sure. I know you dont need much for somethings but it does limit you quite a bit.

Jul 5There are some good singles groups out there - check with churches in your area. Those groups were a great place for me to meet singles - and learn some things about being a good person/spouse in the process. Often the group will break out and pray for each other's future and hopes. It was a good experience for me! Also there is a website called 'boundless.org' that has insight into many singles topics. Very helpful.
