Hi all! Ok so I've been battling insomnia since I was about 20 years old, I'm now 52.

I've tried everything from Melatonin to Ambian. I've cut out the caffeine, quit smoking, tried exercising, tried not eating after a certain time, etc.

My average sleep cycle lasts for 2.5 hours and then I wake up. Sometimes I can get up for about 15 minutes then fall back asleep for another 2 hours but a lot of times I can't. When I come home from work, I'm often tired and if I lie down I can usually nap for 2-3 hours but if I do this in the afternoon, I won't sleep that night.

Any suggestions would be appreciated!! Oh and I hate the taste of coffee so that's not an option for me. :-)

@StillStandingMF I can't remember what mgs. I buy but I take to pills at night it's best to start with 1 at night and then if it doesn't help take 2.

Oh only take it at night it will make you tired in the morning.
