Thirty one years ago, I had a brief affair with a public fig

Thirty one years ago, I had a brief affair with a public figure. I think I had thought it would be exciting to have sleep with somebody who worked in the social media, but as it turned out it didn't last long and almost broke up my marriage. I ended up going to see a counselor she didn't give me any advice on what to do about the affair I had. I think her only concern was trying to see how I was feeling about the whole thing. And what to do about my marriage. At that time we had only been married for 9 years, but we had recently moved to a new city and I was trying to adjust to my new surrounding. I decided to stay and work things out, but one counselor I saw didn't agree with me she felt my marriage was already over. It's been thirty-two years now and am still married to the same man.

@sara600 I have done wrong and I have committed sins. I don’t make excuses for them, I chose to do that. What upsets me is that all WS that comes to this SG always make a f**king excuse for their cheating.

@johnyun20 There is a difference between making an excuse and developing an understanding of how and why we make a bad choice. Discovering the reasons why we stray into bad behavior doesn't take away culpability. It helps us to defend against making poor choices in the future.
