Dear single mother,
You are doing an amazing job!!
This is not how you planned your life to look, this is not what you signed up for... You did not enter into a relationship and have children thinking that it would all fall apart, thinking that you would end up being someone who had "that" happen to them.

Your hopes and dreams have had to be readjusted and now all you dream of is that your children will somehow be ok... that you will be ok. That through the breakdown of your relationship, you have not damaged your kids beyond repair. Even if the breakdown was not your doing, or your choice, you take on aspects of blame... this is what "mother's guilt" looks like and this guilt is a hungry beast that eats us up at every opportunity, about many different things.

Sometimes you may dream that there is possibly someone out there who will not see your "single mum" status as negative, who will not see you as "damaged goods", who will not see your children and your broken heart as "baggage" and who will instead see you for the truely courageous warrior that you are, for the incredible mother that you are, and for the amazing strength that you have in order to push through all the sh&t and do your best for your child/children.

Look within, Mumma, everything you need is right there! You are worthy, you are loved, you are lovable and you are enough. Put yourself first now, because if you are ok, your children will be too. Do the work on yourself, love yourself, be honest with your children when you're struggling- they need to know that you are human, tell them that you love them every day and that you will be there for them forever, no matter what.

You are capable, you are amazing, you've got this!!
