Dealing with some tough stuff. Friends wrongfully imprisone

Dealing with some tough stuff. Friends wrongfully imprisoned in foreign prison for 10 years. Recently flooded incest from nuclear family. Complex PTSD. Drink too much (stopped for now). Now on Xanax and Anti-D meds as of a week ago. Nothing seems to work... Holidays coming, expectations to spend time with the offenders which I'm pretty sure don't think I remember. Thoughts?! My wife says, no way no how we are spending time with your family. We have two young boys. My wife won't let my family near them. This is all so new. We live overseas most of the year.

Hmmm...my parents are constantly asking to Skype. I suppose that is relatively safe physically but I just don't want to. Is this unfair to my boys? I usually become physically ill after seeing them for at least a day. Just figured the pattern out. Can't get out of bed the following day. That says something...

Thanks for the tips on Xanax...had no idea it was addicting. Only been on it for about 2-3 weeks until the anti - D's kick in. At least that's the medical plan at this point.

I agree with your wife, DO NOT spend any time with them, cut them out of your life like cancer! I realize you’re taking depression meds, but is this coupled with therapy? If not, GO! You know how serious this is, get the help you need! I disagree with many of the people commenting, if these were associates or people you had just met, would you keep them in your life, if your friends started acting weird, dangerous, or was sexually abusive, would you keep them as friends? NO! Just because they’re family doesn’t mean you have to associate or even talk to them. I’m a Christian, family is a big thing, but I live by that rule, if my sister’s weren’t family there is no way I’d associate with them at all! The only reason I’m talking to them now is to administer my mother’s estate and you can bet once this is complete it will go back to incommunicado!

You’re important to the world of your wife and kids, keep going, pray, go to church, talk with your pastor or therapist, keep moving! One of these links is elementary I know, but the resources are good, look through them, I hope I helped…don’t give up! http://bit.ly/2wwJoJf
