I am 1 mpo from a TAHBSO (Total Abdominal Hysterectomy Bila

I am 1 mpo from a TAHBSO (Total Abdominal Hysterectomy Bilateral Salpingo Ooperctomy), I'm 39, ever since i started my period at 14 my they were irregular, so at roughly 18 i went on birth control to regulate them, Up until Right before I met my current husband I've been on some form of bc ever since because there is a family history of Endometriosis, and when i was off BC I had the symptoms that matched the diagnosis, even though I never got a surgical diagnosis until last July. Last July I had a intestinal blockage that took 3 ER visits (over 3 weeks time) and numerous tests to diagnose, and by that time they said if i had waited a week more I probably wouldn't be standing there. The blockage they found was in my small intestine, they removed 14 inches, and my appendix which was so inflammed they thought it might burst if not removed. After that surgery my case was so unusual that Kaiser Persmenente put together a team of Pathologists and GastroInterologists and found that all of that was caused by Endometriosis, so then I finally got a diagnosis. In the last 15 months I have had 4 ovarian cysts rupture, and the last one that ruptured May 20th caused so much pain that I threw up at work and they had to admit me for a few days to administer antibiotics, I dont know if I was septic, but i must have been close. They also did another ultrasound at that time and found multiple additional ovarian cysts, the largest of which were 12cm and 8cm, they decided surgery was the only option, as nothing else that had been tried had helped. Surgery was scheduled for roughly 1 week later 6/5/19, there was so much damage done to my reproductive organs because of the Endometriosis, Ovarian cysts, and they found Adenomyosis that they had no choice but to do a TAHBSO. My husband and I had been trying to conceive since we got married almost 2 years ago, but at that point I realized my health was more important. All those years I was on BC they symptoms were managed, had they not been I probably would have had this happen at a much younger age. So that is my story, I have found online Facebook support groups, and this as well. I'm also curious if there are local support groups as well in Portland, Or. / Vancouver, Wa. area? At some point when we are ready for it my husband and I plan on adding to our family (he has a teenage son from his previous marriage), but for now we're focusing on healing of all wounds, mental, physical, emotional.

You just relived my life, minus several surgeries over the years. I hope you’ll consider adoption. It healed my broken heart. I knew by age 21 ferocity wasn’t my friend. I adopted at 25, I’m 44 now. He’s 20. Best decision I ever made. 7/26 I had a total hysterectomy. The pain is unbearable. I am so depressed. I regret not having it 10 years ago. My sons in college now. He came home to go to school close to me to help me through this. I’m glad you have the support of your husband. Together you’ll make the right decision for you and your family. Good luck
