Does anyone else’s HOCD spike entering a new romantic relationship? Mine has made me doubt everything and it hasn’t even been bad until now...

Feb 14, 2018@bluebirds141516 but I'd leave each appointment worked up and analyzing everything...

Feb 14, 2018@Bria869 it wasn’t even that, I just had no problems to talk about. But as soon as anything little happens, everything just pops back up. I feel like I just, emotionally, have to be as stiff as a board or the ocd will come back. Do you know what I mean? But I have experienced what you mean before, it’s horrible. Especially because I wasn’t always open with my therapist.

Feb 15, 2018@bluebirds141516 no, I can't relate to feeling like I have to be as stiff as a board to stop the hocd. I don't think you should have to feel that way... If you are, then maybe you haven't fully accepted the possibility, nor are you letting the thoughts and feelings pass without judgement. I still have issues.. just this past weekend I did... But I'm okay now! It's part of the disorder to experience ups and downs. However, I do find that I have to work at stopping myself from thinking about losing my dog.. of I let my mind run loose or I watch a sad movie about animals or read something horrible in the news related to animals, I lose it... So I have to be careful that I don't trigger myself, because thinking about it really is very painful! I think I've grown more out of hocd than ripping myself out of it... If that makes sense.
