So I was diagnosed with hsv2 a week ago wen I had my very 1s

So I was diagnosed with hsv2 a week ago wen I had my very 1st outbreak , I had been in a relationship with this guy since aug 2016,I started having nerve pain down there and kept getting slight fevers in nov2016,went to the doc he couldn't figure out what was wrong,we had unprotected sex the whole time, couple weeks ago went to the ER bc it burned wen i peed n was told I had hsv2, the guy I was seeing just called me and told me he went to the doc and did a blood test and nothing came up but she told him to come back and do it again...prior to us meeting aug2016 and sleeping with each other I had not been with anyone in over a year, last I had sex b4 him was oct2015 and had none of these symptoms until I started having sex with him...if nothing came up in his as of right now, was he or wasn't he the one that gave this too me? I'm so confused

Hopefully they are testing him specifically for herpes, not just a general sti check. And in any case he may have given it to you, or you may have had it longer and it may of just been dorment. It's difficult to tell. I've read on here women posting about having their first outbreaks many years into their marriages. So it's really hard to know for sure. I'm glad he's getting tested to some extent.. hopefully it can help put your mind at ease, but it is really tricky to find out where it came from sometimes.

@lisajd they just did a swab, they said that they didn't test my blood for it....I wanted them to take a oral swab too but they wouldn't do it bc I don't have any sores in my mouth but I can see and feel a red rises bump on the back of my tongue but she still wouldn't swab me I'm so annoyed I can't wait till my actual doc gets back,I can feel it ,it doesn't hurt it's just bothering me and feels weird wen I swallow like something stuck on my tongue n won't get off
