[190]

I'm new, I got my test results from my school that I had HSV type 2 on Friday but I'm honestly in disbelief and am going for blood work and a second opinion? I guess that sounds stupid but I've just always practiced safe sex so I don't see how it was possible. The school physician had the worst bedside manner and basically told me to deal with this. I hope I can make some friends through this and we can experience this together, as awful as that sounds. I also pray and write down every day that is was a misdiagnosis because I'm only 22 and feel like I have so much more to do with my life. Now I won't be able to get married or have children without fear and who would even want me at this point you know? Thank you all for reading

I was recently diagnosed also and my doctor gave me the results over the phone. Worst bedside manner I’ve ever experienced. I’m also considering getting a second opinion with a different doctor. I feel like if I see the results on paper then maybe I will believe it’s real. Sounds crazy, I’ve felt a little crazy for the last week. Anyways I’m here if you need to talk also.

@Acirewhit Sadly I have to leave the GYN who gave me my diagnosis (because my employer is changing insurance, again!) but I ALWAYS read reviews-- I don't believe every negative thing I read, I just look for a doctor where a few posts say they were kind-- it's so invaluable in a doctor. I'm sorry you had that experience!

I agree! I will check into reviews. Sometimes I wonder if it’s just because they are female! I have always seemed to get along better with the opposite sex at least as far as friendships go in my personal life.
