I was told I had herpes about 7 months ago and I was doing rlly good at not wanting to even go near anyone let alone a guy I actually liked. monday I made the mistake of having sex with with someone ive known for abt a year without disclosing I have herpes and I feel horrible for it. yesterday I got up the courage to tell him I have an sti because I hate using the actual word herpes. my problem is idk when is the right time to tell ppl before its too late

I think it depends if you have 1 or 2. 2, you can wait until before you become intimate. 1, kind of stuck there because you can pass it simply by kissing. I would suggest to do more research. In my search I learned up to 60% of the American Population has it under 49 years of age and up to 80% over 50. It's likely your lover already has it too, but just does not know. Most people do not know they have it because many times they never have an outbreak. Also, there is such a thing as a false positive, get checked again and have your lover get checked too. You never know.

There are date sites you can try where people have it and know so there's no uncomfortable convos. I think one is called postivedating.com, something like that.
Your dating life is not over. Neither is your sex life, you just need to be postive and find the resources.
