I posted a few weeks ago that I had a date. It was for our Black and White Formal Ballroom Dance. My ex and I (the one who gave me herpes) were suppose to take dance lessons. After the divorce, I decided to go myself. I'm not a great dancer, but it's fun, gets me out of the house with people, and gives me something to look forward to. This is the first actual date I've had since my divorce where the guy hasn't used some crazy line or ridiculous behavior. I had a wonderful time; the celebration was great! My date was courteous and easy to talk to except that we didn't dance together enough. He wasn't really fun to dance with (I knew this beforehand), but I'm glad I went with him. We both danced with other people. At our dance venue everyone dances with everybody else, age doesn't matter nor does coupling. Finding this activity has been a game changer for me. I can't say how important I think it is that if you're single, you have some kind of a social life. Especially if you have herpes that can make you feel hopeless and alone. a_survivor thank you for asking.
