I just dont understand why I’m finding dating to be almost impossible now. I found out i had hsv2 pretty much right after a breakup. Now in my current life I’ve been trying to date and remain social but I had my first pretty much rejection because of my herpes and it really got to me. (I had to pull over and cry because I was so upset). It doesn’t help that living with this and running into obstacles like being rejected (which NEVER happened to me before) has been triggering my depression and self harm tendencies. I just HATE the stigma attached to having this virus. Literally every person I’ve tried to interact with sexually, after being turned down because of my herpes, they just look at me with disgust like I’m a walking death sentence. It’s hard to still try to live my life when coming into contact with people that don’t understand or accept me.

redds,
Dont beat your self down. Not sure how you disclose the information to the person, but know that sometimes ignorance is a beats. The person you talked to have no idea what the skin condition is all about. You are a very inteligent, bright and beautiful person, who will find the right person who will understand and will not have a problem and will love you regardless. Hang in there and dont stress. Take care of you first...do things you like. Hugs from a guy...

Thank you for the reassurance. I tried my best to educate him and assure him that I would make sure he was safe and I was cautious. It just leaves me feeling hopeless at times. Almost like I'm only subjected to people who share similar difficulties. I don't want to put myself in a box but I just feel like people who don't have to deal with this virus just don't understand it.

@redds ,
If he really care about you, the condition would not be an issue. The individual would actually react in a different way. Right there, he let you know that the intentions were different. Again, the real one will come and you will see the difference. Wink!
