Hi. I've been really feeling down and hopeless about life. G

Hi. I've been really feeling down and hopeless about life. Going through my divorce and what that looks like and my final parting gift from my husband. It just makes me sick to my stomach. Almost too much to deal with. I get a lot of positive talk but from people that dont have it or have to go through it. Im just trying to work through all of it. Does anyone know if you are less contagious as time goes on? The Info packet said the shedding drops off more after 2yrs. I've has it 6 yrs. Also, does anyone know if your OB can look different? Sometimes I itch really bad but nothing is there. Then I have the spot that itches and welts up and was diagnosed as hsv2. I know that that is an OB I get about once a yr. The other has been diagnosed as pruitis. I just want to make sure I'm not having other OB and thinking they are something else and not tracking my body correctly. So I guess do most break outs appear or manifest themselves in the same manner?

As time goes on, your body is better at fighting it from what I've read. Your body develops antibodies after a certain period and you will have less outbreaks. I think anyone can present with different symptoms, like me for example. I have burning off and on, I dont have any sores/lesions as of yet.. but my burning and inflammation to the area have persisted for weeks. The doctors have done so many swabs, everything keeps coming back negative. I had my blood tested on Monday to see if I have HSV1 or HSV2... the doctor also put me in for a gynecologist consult. I'm taking Valtrex... my possible exposure was May09. I'm sorry that you are going through this, but I'm told by many that it will get better. Sending you hope and strength!

@LadyInRed456 why do you think you have hsv? Are you just worried that you were exposed and.just haven't had an OB? Thanks for the kind words. I hope you get some answers and good results.

I'm worried as I've had burning vaginal pain for over 3 weeks. The doctors have taken swabs to rule out bv and yeast. I've had testing for gonorrhea/chlamydia and syphillis. My new partner gave me oral sex on May 09 and may have had cold sores but told me that he got it checked out and the doctor said it was angular cheleitis. I dont have any blisters or sores, just very uncomfortable at times.
