Hi everyone, I'm 25 y/o and just found out (confirmed) today

Hi everyone, I'm 25 y/o and just found out (confirmed) today I have HSV 2. I had my first outbreak in November 2018, got tested and the results came back negative. I got tested again two days ago and the results came back positive. I got it from a guy who I had protected sex with, so I feel terrible, we used protection and now my dating life is basically ruined. I don't even know what to say, I just found this support group online and really hope reading what you guys say makes me feel at least a little bit better.

@soflofashion no you must stay positive. You are not alone. But try to hide it from your friends. They might judge you. I am hiding it as much as possible and pretend that everything is alright. Focus on the things that make you happy... I am trying to do this. Because stressing about it will make it worst. When you found someone else. Let them know you have herpes. And most importantly always use condom.

@Lostwanttobefound
All of my friends know what I went through. I wouldn’t have been able to get through it without them. I told my mom as well. Every single person was supportive and defensive on my behalf (they HATE the man that gave this to me). They feel so sorry that I got this being that I am the LEAST permiscous AND contracted despite always using protection.

I’ve only told my sister and my best friend, I feel like the rest of my friends are going to judge me. The worst part is that we used condoms and I still got herpes
