Hi, I’m new to this site and just looking for something to help. I’m going down a bad path and if I don’t deal with this correctly, My life is going to keep spiraling. I tested positive for Herpes 1 and 2 about 3 months ago. I am only 18 and i feel like my life is over. Only a select number of my friends and family know, but I feel so alone. They don’t understand what I’m dealing with. I feel so broken. I am so scared that I’m never going to be okay again. I turned to drugs to deal with it and i want to stop living this way. How can I come to terms with this? How can i be okay again? I am so scared that I’m never going to find love again and I’ve been depending on these drugs to deal with it. I need advice and help before i really screw up my life even more.

We are all here with you. I have recently just been diagnosed and am only 20. Do not worry. You are much more than this. Please PM if you need anything. Your story can be as great as you want it to be I promise. There's so much left for you, don't let three simply letters stop you from writing your three more books.

I was diagnosed at 21, turned to food and gained 75 pounds! I also drank so much my chest burned. But I needed to grieve and be angry. I would say the more you destigmatize it, the better. Watch ppl on YouTube talking about it like it's normal, realize that your boss may have it, other friends probably have it, etc. And continue to find support groups. If you can find a herpes support group in your area, you'll see how common it is.

Hi there,
You might think you are the only one out there with this, but one out of four people you see every day has HSV-2 and three out of four have HSV-1. Medically, this is a minor skin condition...remember, this isn't hepatitis or HIV, or some other terrible illness. You can have everything you want in life. There are many many people in your position. However, please control the self-destructive behavior...it only hurts, it doesn't help. You are the same good person you always have been. Please PM if you want more support.
