My 16 birthday is on sunday. I know I'm supposed to be excited and happy about it. 16, everyone is telling me how much fun it was when they were 16. But it makes me upset. I know this sounds stupid but I feel like I haven't done anything with my teen years. Everyone always has story of when they were a teenager. And I dont. My teenage year consist of taking care of my siblings, doing everything to keep the peace, and being alone. Which sounds so dramatic I know. My father never wants us to leave the house. The only time I do is for Chruch on sundays. I'm homeschooled also so I never got escape through that. I know it sounds stupid and I'm complaining. I feel like I'm supposed to be happy and I'm not.

You do not sound stupid and you are not complaining. If you can safely call some hotlines, they are listed on this site, you may want to reach out for trained support. I am concerned that you are isolated in an unhealthy way. There may be local crisis agencies that can help you as well. You may want or need a healthy adult to step in and advocate for you. Hotlines and crisis centers are open 24/7 If is it safe for you to call. Your father keeping you in the house is not ok.

You dont sound like you are complaining. Its sounds tough not being able to leave. You're a teenager. You need to be able to hang out with kids your age.
