Things are somewhat stagnant but i know a storm is still coming. I really miss Irish commenting on my stuff. :(

My son turned 18 three days ago and he is so happy that the court has no more say over him. He showed me his phone last night where his mom has been texting him relentlessly for weeks. He hasn't responded to any of it. She asked him to come to Thanksgiving dinner, if she could take him out for his birthday and if he would like to go on the Christmas trip she planned with her fake a$$ family. He told me he doesn't want to be around her at all. She blames me. Says I'm turning them against her. Prove it, because I've told them to be respectful and honor their mother. They call me dumb for saying that. He also said his grandma (her mom) has been texting him and it's driving him crazy. He asked me what is wrong with them. I've been trying so hard not to say negative things about these psychotic people so I just told him I don't think they know the difference between right and wrong. That's the only thing I can think of. They are all in denial.

The daughter who moved out and back in with her mother has been staying with me for a week now and her mom is bugging her, asking what she did to make her mad. Our daughter told her nothing, she just wants to spend time with her dad.

Our oldest daughter hasn't seen her mom for a couple months now. Her mom texts the crap out of her too but she doesn't answer. She just doesn't understand that the kids do not accept what she has done. I don't know if she is brain dead or what but something clearly is not right.

Our youngest son is totally screwed. I spoke to the social worker doing the CAPS assessment on him and when she asked me why I think he is acting out I told her because he has been abused his whole life. Before and after adoption but I don't think this lady took me seriously. Even after he told her a few days before that my ex has abused him, as recently as July of this year. He's missed nine straight days of school now and probably 40 days this year. He's going to court for truancy and he smokes week every day and now I heard he may be involved with a guy who sells cocaine because another social worker contacted me last week and said her son tested positive for weed and coke after my son introduced him to this drug dealer he knows. I told this lady the same thing I tell everyone. I have no control over any of this. I was just trying to be a good father and husband then life just took a dump on me.

I've been in recovery for 23 years. Ever hear of the Serenity prayer?

"God, Grant me the Serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change to things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference"

It's not your responsibility to change her, you're powerless over what she does. The only thing you can control is yourself. You're gonna continue to beat yourself and carry guilt until you can accept that.

None of us are perfect, and we all make mistakes, but it's 100% on her if she had an affair and moved on.

@Michael72 Definitely heard it. I bought my wife a crystal paper weight for her desk about three years ago with the Serenity Prayer inscribed on it. Kind of a bittersweet memory now. I could move on if she would give me my kids and get out of our lives. She's a child abuser so she doesn't deserve them and they are better off without her.
