I have never been this stressed out in my entire life, I’m so close to the end here but I feel like there’s just not enough time. I don’t think I’ll be done on time and I’ll probably have to use Friday to finish when I wanted to be completely done by Friday at noon when the movers wrapped up. There’s just too much to do, not enough support from anywhere and not enough time in the day between work, childcare, sports and moving. But I’m trying my hardest. Today I took the kids to the cable store on my lunch break to pick up my free equipment for the apt, cable box and modem. I planned on setting it up and testing it out tonight after the game but I ran out of time. The kids were hungry afterwards so I had to stop and grab a quick bite. I got the last lamp opened up and plugged in though. It’s a cool little lamp with a usb to charge the phone also.

Sometimes I feel like this is some sort of cosmic joke or test to see how much one man can possibly handle.

Missing one game won't be the end of the world. I know how dedicated you are to the kids and their lives. But you have to prioritize and right now it sounds like you really need that time to get the apartment set up. The kids will understand if you miss one game or practice. I used to be like that with the kids and trying to make sure I get to every single practice every time. However, I quickly found it that sometimes it's just not possible. My kids understand and are fine with it. Yours will be too.

Focus on getting the things done that NEED to be done. As others have said, the lamps can wait, as long as you've got some basic lighting...even as beth said, your cell phone has a flashlight in a worst case scenario. Get furniture set up, your shower ready...that's one of the first things I did in this house was install shower curtains so I was sure I could take a shower in the morning. Things like that.

You are putting too much pressure on yourself to get it all done. Just give yourself permission to miss a game, not have the apartment put together, not get the electronics set up. You have a lifetime to do all of those things now. Just find a way to enjoy each moment as best you can without being the cause of your own stress.

I wanted to get my entertainment center started this weekend, but it just didn't happen. I'm OK with that because nobody else has expectations that it gets done. I have time to do it at my own speed and not rush it and end up with something I'm unhappy with.

Take a deep breath, I completely agree with everyone. Make a list of things that need to be done, then prioritize things in order of importance. The things that absolutely have to be done by moving day, should have top priority ( after your family) . Just figure out what needs to be done now and what can wait. Here are some references related to anxiety that might help https://bit.ly/35IJpdx . Prayers for you my friend.
