I am am in the process of getting a divorce and find myself

I am in the process of getting a divorce and find myself in need of a support group. My therapist suggested it, so I decided to give it a try. My wife and I were together since we were 23, now that we're divorcing at 31 it's been hard working on closing the chapter. We're supposed to get together to fill out the divorce papers. I struggle with whether I'm being mature or hurting myself more by keeping the communication going.

It's currently affecting my performance at work, which adds in the stress of worrying that I'm damaging my career and what I've worked for.

It's just been very difficult year so far emotionally.

Ayeemtee In my opinion you are perpetuating the hurt for yourself. Personally, I would avoid her at all costs. But if you haven't hired lawyers, that's a good thing. In a divorce there's only one winner and that's the lawyers that rake you over the coals financially. So I can understand getting together to fill out the papers if you're voiding legal fees. Thirty one is so very young. You have plenty of life ahead of you. If this relationship isn't going to work out, better to end it while you're young. Just take it a day at a time, and focus on yourself and your healing.
