How soon after a person files for divorce, does the other party get served? My wife should have filed yesterday or will file today. What do I do now? Do I need a lawyer? What do I do once I get served? I think it didn't happen yesterday and it might happen today as she arranged a babysitter for her to be out while I'm at work (after kids school).

@eddie1975 Gee. Embarrassing for her? What about you? Although I think we've all come to the conclusion that cheaters aren't typically concerned about others. Thank you - I KNOW I will have a great long-term story. I know for you and a lot of others, it's a much longer road. Fortunately I already feel much better and I see such an upside to this. It's made me better, spiritually and honestly, if he ever is going to have a come-to-God moment, the destruction he's facing from this may be the only thing that saves him in the long run. So, in essence, I'd say it's for BOTH of our bests...in different ways. I just wish I wouldn't feel like there years had been robbed from me, in a way.

@Iristoiris I kinda laughed why I was crying my eyes out thinking about how embarrassed she was?!?! Like why did she even say that when I just told her I was served in front of all my coworkers? Oh the mentality of a cheater. But you know, if she had never put us on this path I may have never gotten baptized. I am a much much better person today that I was for twenty years with her. Crazy to think about. Now she's missing out.

@eddie1975 Very glad to hear that! And she is missing out. Sad to think about the point she - and so many others - take themselves to before they realize that and/or are willing to drop the pride.
