This is for all you divorcees out there.
I have been married for 25 years, I really have had enough,I cannot stand being around my wife, yet I grin and bear it.
I left her last year for a month (I was so happy) and she had a near nervous breakdown, so I went back home to help her through it.
She is now even more needier.
I really really want to be alone but I don’t know how to tell her again.
How did you all tell your partners you wanted out?/

@Jack1964 That is good to hear. I'm assuming that during this last year after her breakdown there hasn't been much working on the relationship or working on a transition. Maybe, approaching her with, "nothing has changed in my feelings from last year when I moved out. I came back out of concern for you, but it is now time for me to move on and make it more permanent. I'm willing to go to joint counseling to help us both move through this transition and also to help you get the support you need. But, I won't be coming back this time."

Now to pluck up the courage to say it

@Blueberries1234 I went thru all the counseling, mediation... for at least 2+ yrs. He agreed to leave, yet after the designated date came and went, he Refused. Police eventually had to escort him out. Around that time, I also discovered that he had already emptied the joint account, leaving me with no $ to support myself and young special needs son. That is why I am a strong advocate for plan, then talk. Once you have the talk, things can go south pretty darn fast. @Jack1964: Fortunate that you have this group’s experiences to learn from. Wish I had received the same great advice to avoid the pitfalls of manipulation and betrayal.
