Well, my brother did the unthinkable. He told me that I need to move on. I don't even know how it felt to hear that from him at this point. Of course I was mad but didn't let it show. Deep down I wish I could. I know I haven't yet.

@mmadwaite he was talking to this girl a few months before I left. When I went back in June he was hugging and kissing me. He was moving her in by September. Last I saw they were engaged. I figure they've been some kind of item for the past year and a half.

@mmadwaite I think my being happy will send exactly the message what he did is ok and see how happy I am now so all is good. It is about my stepdaughter and I know this but this is hard to deal with. But you're right. I have to pretend to be happy. It is best for her.

@beth65 Wow. You think? If he's a narc, he definitely won't want you to be doing good. Narcs don't want to believe their exes are succeeding. Most exes at least initially, don't want to believe their use to be partner is happy without them. Maybe since he wanted out, he doesn't think that way. But yes, what other choice do you have. Maybe this is an opportunity to focus on you and her and try to stop worrying about him. I know how much it must hurt though.
