I'm currently in the hospital for suicidal thoughts. I hear voices in my head that won't go away. It's kind of hard to deal with, and I wasn't given the proper diagnosis so I don't even know what group to join. I used an online support group before and I seemed to do better with it. I'm also a writer. I like to write about my experiences and will publish it as a book. Well, this is my first post. More to come :)

Being in the hospital for mental illness is an extremely scary and emotional experience (I've been there). I'm very sorry for what you're going through right now but I know that it can be very helpful to connect with people who can, at least to some extent, understand what you are going through. I think writing can be extremely helpful (I would guess that's especially true for you since you're a writer). Hang in there, it is a tough experience and I am sorry that you are going through it right now. But you can get through it and I am sure that sharing your stories now, and in the future, will be of more help to others than you can know.

Hi there, I am so glad that you are safe and being looked after, and that you are using this website to gather support.

What do you read? I have found that by reading the Bible and Christian books that I feel more positive and empowered to understand what is going on around me. I’ve also read a lot about Corrie tenBoom’s life. Have you heard of her? She and her family helped to hide the Jews during World War II. Her life story and the strength that she found during such a horrific time of loss of family and friends, and how she managed through prayer and leaning into her relationship with the Lord are a real testimony to the power of God in our lives. Of course, she shares the miracles that happened, too. She went on to write several books; and spoke to crowds throughout the world. If you haven’t read any of her books, I would highly recommend them.

I pray that the negative voices in your head cease and that your mind is filled with hope, peace, and happiness. I am thinking of you!

Awwww thanks you guys! I appreciate all the comments, shared experiences, and prayers. That really helps and made my day. You all put a smile on my face. I feel like my support system stretched out even further than I thought. My boyfriend supports me, my family, a few friends from college, and now this website as well. It gives me a reason to keep going and living. Thanks a lot guys!

I'm feeling much better, I battle depression every day as well as anxiety. But, the hospital has "okay" food. I look forward to snack time since that's the only good food here. Breakfast today wasn't too bad. But anyways! Thanks so much!
