New to online support groups. I know I’m not the only one

New to online support groups. I know I’m not the only one struggling. But why do I feel empty inside and have good days that completely bomb in an instant? Friends I speak to about my thoughts say I have a very heavy sort of depression and I concur. My thoughts of life are very abnormal and a severe case of depression to some sorts and meds and therapist just don’t do the trick.

I am sorry to hear you are struggling with depression. I am glad you did reach out on this forum. You are right you are not alone and there are people who care about you and understand your ups and downs. I struggle with depression for over 20 years. I have been doing great for the past 2 years. With the right medication, awareness of what your triggers are, and having a counselor (therapist) you feel comfortable sharing your feelings and thoughts. Those are all important steps into leading a healthier mental life. Another things that has been very important for me is keeping my thoughts captive and not allowing them to spiral. I try not to address the negative thoughts. A book that has been very beneficial for me is called Battlefield of the Mind by Joyce Meyers. She provides coping techniques to help when those negative thoughts come into our minds. I will be praying for you. Please feel free to contact me via pm if you need someone to talk to.

Thank you ProtoJ for your support. I hope you are feeling better and please reach out for help when you are struggling. Please look into the counseling. Here is a group that offers free online counseling that can help. https://bit.ly/2DS3v7S. My prayers continue to be with you.
