Hello all. This is my first time posting here, so bear with me! I am 45 years old, and still single. I've never been married, or even in a LTR. I get depressed because I think at this point in my life, I have no chance of ever finding someone. All I want right now is companionship, someone to go to the movies with or share a cup of coffee. However, I believe I am not enough to make a man happy to see me. I've had my share of FWB relationships, but that's all. It kind of makes me feel hollow. Anyway, that's my story.

@Daisies728 Men don’t have the leverage here. You do!

Next guy who comes along - maybe in your mind think of him as practice. Practice being yourself and yet different n that there’s no sex early on. You are checking him out! Do you like him. Do you think he has the kind of character that you would want in a husband? What about his family and friends? Being sexually attracted is a part for it but only a part of it. How does he treat you? And how does he treat family friends and strangers? Guys who are super nice t u but rude or nasty to others are usually rude or nasty to everyone eventually.

Every time you delay sex with new guy- you are telling yourself and building yourself up that you and he are worth getting to know each other better...which usually makes better long term sex

Idk where u meet these FWB guys.., An obvious good place to meet nice men is thru church.. there are great books on self esteem out there. Don’t let anyone drag you down. But if having a relationship that could lead to marriage is what you want—then go for it. It is never too late. Focus on yourself and changing some things up so you can get beyond the FWB part And we are here for u.
