I'm having some tough days. My mom is suffering from Parkinson's. My kids are in college and don't talk to me anymore. I'm left with all these lingering feelings of hopelessness.

I'm sorry to hear that your mom has Parkinson's. Hopefully she can get the right treatment so that she can feel better. The best thing you have is your Therapist. And keep that person in your life. And you can start a journal that you can read with your Therapist. It's great that you come on this site, so you can tell other people what's going on, before your next Therapist appointment. Unfortunately in my situation, I don't talk to my Therapist until July 11th because of the 4th of July holiday. I talk to her once every 2 Saturdays, but now it will be 3. I miss her already.

@Ferris sounds like you've got lots of helpful practices. I agree with you on the stepping outside. I put a small bench on my front porch just to be able to get in some "sunshine therapy" on those days when it is nice outside. That natural light and heat seems to do wonders for clearing my mind and resetting my attitude!

@kvolm2016 Indeed, being out in nature or just out where you're not trapped between 4 walls is freedom. That's pretty powerful.
