I’m slowly getting depressed again. I’m going to be goin

I’m slowly getting depressed again. I’m going to be going to college in a few weeks and I’m starting to anxious and depressed. I’ve been trying to get student loans but I keep on getting denied because I have no credit and my co-signers have bad credit, so I have to pay almost $2,000 a month for the year. I’m stressed out. I’m trying to get a job and I got denied for one of them. I’m just applying to as much places as I can. Yesterday, I had a mental breakdown in my friends car when I was hanging out with her. I only ate one thing today and I’ve cried about three times. I had trouble sleeping last night because all I kept on thinking about is paying.

Sounds like you've got some big things to decide right now.. I'm sorry you're feeling so down right now. It's great that you're going to college, that will be a great adventure. If you're not able to afford it right now, would you be willing to take only a few credits at a time or look into a community college? It's expensive, I get it.. finances can be stressful. Have you looked into any scholarships? Hope you're doing better today.

Distance (correspondent) education is the cheapest but the hardest. Must be from well-known institution. Youth want everything instantly. Taking a lot of subjects and doing badly instead of few and doing well. Most textbook can be downloaded for free(pirated). Up to 80% of first year’s students fail, not because lack of funds or intelligence but lack of sacrifice. No more friends, TV, less sleep etc. if you want to succeed in distance education. Was a tutor for 26 years.

I'm sorry to hear that you are feeling so stressed. Can I ask you what your reasons are for the timing of going to school right now? Debt causes a lot of stress. I've had a lot of debt and I've also been debt free. I can tell you from experience that being debt free truly does give you a feeling of freedom that is hard to explain. It eases so much stress. When you have debt, it can be very stressful because you're always trying to pay something off and it limits what you can do to enjoy life without going further into debt. Would it be the end of the world if you delayed going to school even just temporarily while you find a job and work to save up? What if you start school and are paying so much a month and then something else happens to cost you even more money? That's even more stress. When I graduated high school, I got a job at a bank as a teller and went to community college. The bank actually had a tuition reimbursement program and helped to cover a lot of the cost. You might find that a lot of companies offer that. Praying that you will feel peace with whatever decision you make. It's ultimately your decision.
