Hello. I am new here, and am hoping to find some people who understand what I am currently going through. I have been suffering with multilevel lumbar degenerative disk disease for 20 years. Horrible sciatica down my left leg. Anxiety and insomnia. No one seems to get it. If they "do", they are like, oh I have this pain in my foot...I get it. But they can totally work and get their **** done where I can hardly get out of bed. I try to keep a good attitude but it is SO HARD. Literally nothing makes me happy anymore. I had my 3rd spine surgery almost 3 months ago and still feel awful. The new laws regarding pain meds made it so hard for me to find a doctor to even prescribe me anything post op, and even so, I am STILL in horrible pain and can't sleep. I feel like I have been through it all at this point and there is just no hope. Maybe someone out there has been through something similar and can offer some advice, but I feel like I have tried everything. Ugh. Sorry for being so negative. This is really just getting to me. Thanks and hope everyone is coping well.

@Cavaliere I get it with the meds. I need something to take the edge off, but I am by no means an addict. I can function well okn low dose pain meds, but I have been on high dose stuff before (namely oxcycontin), and it messed with my body big time. Weight gain, sweating, water retention, hormone problems. What a mess. I just try to take the minimum dose to control my pain now, andf it seems to be working out well, but it is SO frustrating that doctors are so reluctant to prescribe even weak pain meds. I don't think it is unreasonable. And if they were in the same boat as us, they would want them too. Not everyone out there is a junkie! The medical profession and whoever is passing these new opioid laws need to realize that!

@MarWin thanks for the suggestions! Sorry it took so long to respond. Now that this e coli is finally diagnosed andd getting better, it should be much easier to stay hydrated and get back to my normal lifestyle!
