Short and Quick Bible Thought FOR CAREGIVERS * SWEET TO TH

Short and Quick Bible Thought FOR CAREGIVERS
Proverbs 16:23-24 GNT

"Intelligent people think before they speak; what they say is then more persuasive.

.Kind words are like honey--sweet to the taste and good for your health."

me: Because I tend to be impulsive and quick to respond without thinking, my late mother used to say to me, "Once you say something the damage is done; you can't take it back." How very right she was. Looking back as I cared for my parents, I said a few things I wish I could take back. I know God forgave me, but sometimes satan shoots his arrow; then I feel guilty all over again, temporarily ruining my peace.

No matter who we speak to whether it be care receiver, family, friend, or stranger, we need to be mindful that our words have great power. They can hurt or help. We can obey our Lord with patient, loving words or not. We can cooperate with God's Spirit by intentionally planning ahead, no matter what, we will not lose our patience and say something unkind. When we pray often;; for the strength, wisdom, and guidance to love others, we are reminded of our best intentions. But it is Holy Spirit who empowers us, and only then do we succeed at being loving in thought, word, and action more times than not.

Words do have so much power, better to be kind and speak only when that is possible.
