I'm the mother of a 17 year old daughter with bipolar and suspected borderline personality disorder. Her behavior has been very erratic for about 18 months, and she was arrested earlier this summer for domestic violence against me. Her case has been referred to mental health court. I'm exhausted physically and emotionally. I don't know what else I can do for her and fear my decline with any additional effort on my part and/or continued emotional/physical abuse on her part. Are there any caregivers of BPD who can offer some advice, please?

Welcome here. There is also a group here for Friends and Family of BPD. I am so sorry for what you are going through. Hopefully she will get the help she needs. Has she been able to find a therapist? Maybe one that understands BPD? DBT therapy is the therapy most often used for BPD, but has been found to be to be a good therapy for Bipolar Disorder as well. Hope this helps. You know we are here for you. Best!.........Kisobel
