I'm filled with anxiety because my daughter and her family are moving next door. They've been living faraway for 17 years. I'm frightened of what it will be like when I'm in a depression. I always pretended to be fine when we saw them, which was 3 times a year. When loved ones have expectations I can't meet I feel like a failure.

I feel for you ... we borderlines don't want to burden anyone especially our children no matter what age they are....if you can open up to her so be it... but if you are like me very secretive and wear a mask it's going to be tough because no matter what you say or do you will always analyse it to make yourself full of guilt.... I hope you work things out :)

@Maria40m Thanks, Maria. I know what you wrote is true. So, you're secretive wearing a mask like I do - How do you manage those guilty feelings ? I'm going to try very hard to avoid analyzing everything, because you're right; it seems to make me feel worse and more inadequate when I do it.

I don't manage my guilt it seems to come and go constantly... it's pretty much torture...but it's all we've ever known....I seem to do well sometimes and you think you've conquered it but then WHAM BANG it hits you full on in the face ....What I'd do to step into a none borderline person just for aday
