Each of us work so, so hard to live a good life, a life of merit and worth. To be the best spouse, partner, boyfriend, girlfriend, mother, child, employee that we can possibly be. We try to smile, we try to give a little of our time and money to organizations we deem worthy. We try to sit on the sidelines and cheer for our children. We try to do better than our parents and grandparents. We try and try and try and sometimes, or maybe often, life seems to throw back our best efforts and leave us bereft of all we are working towards.

Do you ever feel like you are running to keep up with your own life? I feel like that often, it isn’t so much that we are busy all the time, just sick and tired of being sick and tired. The kids come home from school coughing and sneezing and telling you a daily count of how many kids are out of class and you dread them falling sick, because you can’t get sick, parents don’t have the luxury of being ill!

Do you ever just feel a bit shaky when it comes to life, thoughts seem to creep up and beg to be answered:
“What am I doing with my life?”
“Am I in the right job?”
“Did I get the right degree?”
“Am I living in the right city?”
“Am I religious enough?”
and the list goes on and on…. I have recently been thinking about this and I have to say that this question is mulled over by almost everyone. Almost everyone wonders if the path they are on is the right one and if it isn’t, do we have the strength to change or even more scary, begin again?

Are you one of those people who love looking at funny Church Signs on Social Media? I crack up to no end, but on my runs recently (slowly getting back into the swing of things after January left me wiped) I keep passing a Church with a letter board displaying this: “Be Intentional.” They have left it up for a few weeks and I pass it several times a day on my way in and out of the neighborhood and it has piqued my curiosity. What does being intentional even mean, how do we live a life of intention?

Okay folks so here it is, I watch the Super Bowl every year and I have literally no idea what is going on. I get the basics, 2 teams, ball (which based on past years I have deduced is filled with a certain amount of air to be “fully inflated”) and then I just cringe when these LARGE men go careening through the air and and get all motherly and start with my experasterd, “that can’t be good for them!” “how do they get up after that” “that is going to hurt.” That my good people is how I watch football.
