I don't know if this is where I need to be, but I think my fiance has bipolar that he refuses to address. He's been in mania for two weeks. He hasn't slept and it's creating 10X more problems due to his cognitive inabilities. He's normally asleep for 3 to 4 days and goes to work when it's "convenient"! (He's in sales, he can get away with it) but lately he's all over the place! Spending money on rediclous things, making plans that sound amazing but not even close to plausible. I just want him to sleep but he's like a kid that doesn't want to go to sleep because he's afraid of missing something. How do I talk to him? I know I can't tell him I think he's bipolar. So how do I get him to get the help he needs. Oh and side note he can't keep a job longer than 6 months. In fact he got fired today which prompted a desperate argument and me feeling like I can't help the man I love until he helps himself. Any comments mean or nice (I'm used to it)!

Thank goodness for me that my half sister took the time to share with me that she thought I had bipolar disorder. It gave me a place to start and I began looking at symptoms. Suddenly my life started making sense and I took myself to a professional to get the diagnosis and medication so that I could live a normal life.

Your fiancé will crash and drop into depression. It would be great if you can encourage him to seek help. Once on mood stabilizers he can live a normal life.

Until he honestly addresses his problem, I would advise you not to marry him.

Thanks guys! Very sound advice! I appreciate the feedback! It's not getting better and I think I'm going to throw in the towel!
