I am having a hard time carrying on a real conversation with my husband without exploding or getting really emotional. Things have not been good for me and I feel like I hear voices of my past and I have been really sensitive to things because I am feeling that I am not good enough or that I am a really bad person. I have been crying a lot more and being really depressed and very insecure. Has anyone else had this happen and what can I do?

Yes. I’ve been feeling this way for years. I don’t know what’s causing it exactly. Up until the last five to ten years I would have described my symptoms as just massively depressed, with gentle cycling through brief periods of more happy times. Now though it’s changed and there’s so much anxiety and anger or frustration in addition to the sadness and despair. I can have days where I’m not great but I’m rather leveled off. And then one day I have this tension building in me. This raw agitatedness. And it can go on for days or weeks and will gradually dissipate to where I’m back to some leveled off days. I wish I understood better what’s wrong with me.

@Myhealer I would love to talk to a counselor. Thank you so much for the compliment.

@Precious longhornsfan, You can arrange to speak with a counselor at no cost by calling 1-855-771-HELP (4357) Monday through Friday between 6:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. Mountain time. If call volumes are high, it may be necessary for you to leave your name and number for a counselor to return your call. Please be assured that I will be praying for your healing. Take care.
