So does it bring up connected memories of stuff you have forgotten, but still contributes to your reaction to other memories you remember? (Yes, I'm confusing myself.) Could these hidden memories in a connected group of memories, be causing a reaction that you were not aware of the cause? I guess if you pulled up memories from say childhood you had forgotten, you could work through them through an adult's mind and take away the power they had over you. Does that make sense? Otherwise wouldn't the memories re-traumatize you?
