Hello, I binge eat usually only at night when I'm done with everything for the day and I'm sitting alone with the t.v.

Thank you for welcoming me, I eat to feel happy when I'm sad, whenever I want to seek comfort its food like chocolates I go for and now it has become habitual and I can't seem to get out if it

@Janksie I totally understand as in sure millions of other people would too. I figured out how to cut way back on binge eating for me but for the last so many weeks I chose not to do what I needed to do and went ahead and binged. Have you tried anything to keep from binging? For me, my problem is at night I discovered a few things that help tremendously, 1. If I eat dinner a little later that helps 2. I have to get my things done earlier in the night and go to bed earlier so i won't binge. So if you could do something to keep busy during the day so you won't binge that works if you allow it to work, it isn't easy of course but it can be done.another thing is DO NOT but your favorite binge foods. When you're at the store you can choose not to put those chocolates in the cart. I know nobody wants to hear that they can choose but it's the only way just like any other habit or addiction. When you begin to make healthier choices you will feel better but you also will have to do things for yourself instead of eating to escape the thoughts and emotions. Start thinking of taking more control allow yourself to feel or think whatever then try different coping methods maybe several coping methods like journaling your emotions, exercising like brisk walking, clean house, yard work, painting a room, rearrange furniture, take a class, join a gym.
